Printing Tips for your Personalized Photo Calendars

Now that you've designed your personalized photo calendar, it's time to print! Follow the steps and tips listed below for the best printing experience. Please note: Every printer has different settings. We have done our best to create a generic tips page that will work for most printers. If you run into problems or find that your printer has a different setting, please contact us..

Full-Size Calendar Printing

Step 1: Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader before generating your calendar.

Step 2: To generate your calendar: login to your account, select your completed calendar, and click "Generate Calendar."

Step 3: A new window will open. Click on the Adobe Acrobat link provided to view your calendar.

Tip: You may need to disable your pop-up blocker or allow pop-ups from this site to view your calendar.

Step 4: Review each page of your calendar carefully. Check for image quality, typos, and omissions. Close this window to make changes to your calendar if necessary.

Tip: Make sure you view the calendar PDF at 100%. This will give you the most accurate indication of how your calendar will print.

Step 5: Go to the File Menu and select "Print", or click on the printer icon.

Step 6: A Print Dialog box will open. Select your printer.

Print Your Back Cover First

Step 7: You'll want to print the last page of your calendar first -- the back cover. In the Print Range, enter in the page number of the last page of your calendar. For a 12-month calendar, the back cover will be page number 26.

Step 8: Select the number of copies.

Step 9: Set your page scaling to "Shrink to Printable Area". (Older versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader may say "Shrink Oversized Pages to Paper Size.") Make sure the "Auto-Rotate and Center" box is checked.

Step 10: Click on the "Properties" button to bring up your printer's specific properties. This is where you will select your paper type. Click on OK to get back to the Print Dialog box.

Tip: We recommend using a heavy cardstock paper for your back cover to give your calendar added durability.

Step 11: Click on "OK" to print your back cover.

Print Your Full-Size Calendar Double-Sided (If your printer has the ability to duplex, follow these steps.)

Step 12: Go to the File Menu and select "Print", or click on the printer icon. In the print range, enter in page 1 through the SECOND-TO-LAST page of your calendar. For a 12-month calendar, this will be 1-25.

Step 13: Select the number of copies.

Step 14: Set your page scaling to "Shrink to Printable Area". (Older versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader may say "Shrink Oversized Pages to Paper Size.") Make sure the "Auto-Rotate and Center" box is checked.

Step 15: Click on the "Properties" button to bring up your printer's specific properties. This is where you will select your paper type and the double-sided feature. (Every printer is different. Please check your printer's manual if you have questions about this step.) Click on OK to get back to the Print Dialog box.

Step 16: Click on "OK" to print your personalized calendar.

Step 19: Select the number of copies.

Step 21: Click on the "Properties" button to bring up your printer's specific properties. This is where you will select your paper type. Click on OK to get back to the Print Dialog box.

Step 22: Click on "OK" to print the first side of your personalized calendar.

Tip: For inkjet printers, let the first side of your calendar dry completely before feeding the pages back through for the second side. Do not get the pages you have printed out of order. We strongly recommend printing out a test page to see which way you need to flip your pages for printing on the second side. You'll need to reload the printed pages into your printer in order to print the other side of the pages. Remember that each month's picture appears on the opposite side of the previous month; for example, you should print February's monthly grid on the back of March's photo. Make sure that you understand which side and end of the paper your printer begins to print from, to avoid mistakes with page orientation.

Step 23: Go to the File Menu and select "Print", or click on the printer icon. Once your first side is loaded back in your printer correctly, in the print range, enter in page 1 through the SECOND-TO-LAST page of your calendar. For a 12-month calendar, this will be 1-25.

Step 24: Print either the even pages OR the odd pages by selecting either "Odd Pages Only" or "Even Pages Only" -- the opposite of what you printed first.

Step 25: Select the number of copies.

Step 26: Set your page scaling to "Shrink to Printable Area". (Older versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader may say "Shrink Oversized Pages to Paper Size.") Make sure the "Auto-Rotate and Center" box is checked.
